The Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association will be having its annual meeting on Thursday, September 18, 2008 from 6:00pm until 8:30pm.
The agenda includes the election of board members. At least seven of the 16 board seats will need to be filled. The PPNA Board member position description is as follows:
Responsibilities: Work to identify community needs and assets, and promote collaboration with other community stakeholders. Share information about PPNA activities, services and events and increase awareness of the Association within the community. The Board of Directors provides governance to the organization, represents it to the community, and accepts the ultimate legal authority for it.
Qualifications: Must live, work or own property in the Powderhorn Neighborhood, have a passion for the mission of PPNA, willing to work with others and share skills, time and talents.
Time Commitment: Estimated time commitment is six to ten hours per month for a two-year term. This includes preparing for and attending monthly board meetings, which are generally held the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm. Board Members also are expected to attend other PPNA sponsored events and meetings throughout the year as their schedules permit.
