Come Feed your Soul!

Kidz Café began September 21st, 2007 and will run until June 6th at Powderhorn Park Community Center 3400 15th Avenue. The purpose of the program is to serve dinner to the youth every other Friday from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Many of our youth are homeless or rarely receive a nourishing meal, contact from a caring adult, and an opportunity to get the youth engaged in activities in the community. The Kids Café will and has offered both.

Last year we had over 100 youth participate and many volunteers including the Mason Palestine Lodge #7, community residents, Class Act M.C., and Hennepin Powderhorn Partners. We received many donations from Powderhorn residents, The Wedge, Seward Co-op, Lunds, and Augsburg Campus Kitchen. The goal is to have different organizations and community residents come and volunteer and serve the youth dinner that has already been prepared, and interact with the youth. This year we will also give youth who are interested in helping cook the opportunity to help prepare the meals with our cook Ronald Cass.

If you would like more information, or would like to volunteer contact Shonda Allen at 612-722-4817.
