The Garden Crusader Awards
The Garden Crusader Awards were created by Gardener's Supply in 2001 to honor individuals who are improving the world through gardening. These enthusiastic men and women are planting trees and flowers, growing food, creating new green spaces, and teaching their friends and neighbors about the rewards of gardening.
Midtown Market Season Begins on May 3rd!
The Midtown Farmers' Market is not unique in offering locally grown or produced foods, but we are uniquely devoted to a healthy, prosperous, sustainable future for our families, our land, our neighborhoods both urban and rural. That's why all of the fruits and vegetables you'll find at Midtown are grown in Minnesota and Wisconsin. The freshest seasonal produce graces the growers' tables at Midtown. The same goes for the naturally raised chickens, beef, lamb, pork and other meats you'll find at Midtown.
Dine Out for Life and fight AIDS
The Minneapolis City Council has proclaimed April 24, 2008 as Dining Out for Life Day. Participating restaurants will contribute a portion of meal expenses to the Aliveness Project’s work helping people living with HIV and AIDS in Minneapolis. Last year, more than 1,450 people with HIV benefited from the Aliveness Projects services, including meal programs, a food shelf and health care advocacy.
Midtown Global Market Neighborhood Night
Midtown Global Market Lake and Chicago
Neighborhood Night
Bring down the whole family to meet your friends and neighbors for some free live music, shopping and plenty of options for foods to eat. Every Thursday night is Neighborhood Night, let's make it a date! We'll validate your stub if you park in the 10th Avenue Parking Ramp, free for up to three hours!
Dinner Special at La Sirena Gorda $5 Fish Tinga Tacos, regularly $6.25
Music performance 5:30pm-7:30pm: Sarah Pray
Her debut album, a 5 song EP released in 2007, surveys the darker side of her music whereas her more current live songs reveal a more playful bluesy attitude. And although she switches randomly between acoustic guitar and piano and has a bad habit of laughing at the end of songs, you can be sure that, while she is playing, there is nothing there but pure and honest emotion. This Thursday Manny’s Tortas and music by Rebecca Kragnes
Kidz Cafe
Powderhorn Park Community Center 3400 15th Avenue South
The purpose of Kids Café is to serve dinner to the youth every other Friday from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at Powderhorn Park. Many of our youth are homeless or rarely receive a nourishing meal or contact from a caring adult. The Kids Café will offer both. Different organizations and community residents will come and volunteer to serve the youth dinner that will already be prepared, interact with the youth and give them information on their organization or programs. This program is sponsored by Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association and Augsburg Campus Kitchen

Become a PPNA Volunteer
Volunteering is a great way to get involved, meet people and support PPNA's wonderful events. PPNA sponsors many events each year, so there are many opportunities to volunteer! You do not have to be a resident of Powderhorn Park to volunteer.
We recognize that everyone leads a very busy life. So we have many one-time or short-term volunteer options. Below are some examples of annual volunteer needs. We'd love to have as much or as little time as you can offer to make our events spectacular!
