A South Minneapolis music festival featuring 13 epic bands will continue the 13-year-long tradition of transforming our neighbors' front porches into uniquely Powderhorn stages showcasing genres from Hip Hop, R&B, Surf-Psyche-Punk, Country, Americana, Singer-Songwriter, Latin Folk, Alternative, Reggae Funk, Pop, Jazz Fusion, and more!

Powderhorn Porchfest is thrilled to announce that Obi Original & The Black Atlantics will headline our 14th annual celebration on September 19th. Obi Original is a visionary Afrobeats producer, songwriter, bandleader, and cultural curator whose work bridges continents, generations, and genres. Rooted in the timeless sounds of Nigerian highlife and inspired by legends like Oliver De Coque and Osadebe, he blends nostalgia with innovation—honoring tradition while pushing the boundaries of contemporary Afrocentric sound. His music carries messages of legacy, identity, and joy, echoing the revolutionary spirit of Fela Kuti through art made with purpose.

What is Powderhorn Porchfest?
Every year 13 creatively brilliant performing artists continue the decade-long Powderhorn tradition of transforming our neighbor's front porches into epic stages.
Powderhorn Porchfest is a FREE music and community celebration that spans 2 city blocks in the heart of South Minneapolis drawing in thousands with over a dozen food vendors, 2 beer gardens, and family-fun activities perfect for all ages.
What do show proceeds support?
The show helps fund the Porchfest next year! Donate to keep the FREE music and art flowing while paying artists for their time and talent.
Does it cost money to attend the show?
Nope! This music festival is FREE and open to the public. Powderhorn Porchfest is a fun-filled party for all ages during the day and an unforgettable celebration for the adults after dark.
What about parking and public transit?
There is parking on the side streets. The 14 and 22 buses drop off near the show. Find details about taking public transit here.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The show goes on...rain or shine! In case of severe or dangerous weather we may cancel...but it's highly unlikely.

Maybe! Each stage is curated by community members. Send your band information to pedra@ppna.org to have your information passed on to the curators.
