  • Prepare + Prosper is hiring an Engagement Manager and Financial Inclusion Program Manager. Learn more and apply here.

  • The City of Minneapolis is hiring a Neighborhood & Community Relations Director. Read more and apply here.

  • The Climate Impact Corps is an AmeriCorps program that places members at Minnesota nonprofits and public agencies who have a mission to preserve and protect the environment. This year, the program is expanding to new sites and to include new ways to serve. The program is looking for members to join three initiatives: Community Forestry Initiative , Home Energy Initiative, and Sustainability Project Coordinators.   • Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) announced that youth 18 years and under can receive nutritious meals and snacks free of charge at parks, libraries, other community spaces, as well as the MPS food truck and food bus. For locations and more information, use the Free Meals for Kids mobile app or visit the MPS SFSP website.

  • HomeHelpMN is offered through Minnesota Housing to help if you have fallen behind on your mortgage or other housing-related expenses due to the pandemic. Learn more and apply here.

  • Minnesota has a streamlined application for benefits such as cash, food, emergency housing, and child care assistance. Learn more and apply here.

  • Minnesotans can order two test kits per home (for a total of four tests) at Order your free at-home rapid tests. The website includes information on at-home rapid testing, a video demonstration and FAQ on how to use the iHealth COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test, and a link to place orders with the state’s fulfillment partner, Care Evolution.

Events & More

  • Join Lake Street Council in celebrating summer on Lake Street with a fun, community block party on August 4th from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Lake St & Chicago Ave! Minneapolis residents, business owners, and visitors are welcome to enjoy family friendly art activities, delicious food, and more!

  • Join Pillsbury House + Theatre and KRSM Radio on August 20th for a community Block Party celebrating PH+T’s 30th Anniversary & KRSM’s 5th, plus the arrival of ‘To Sit Awhile’ a life-size installation by sculptor Alison Saar celebrating Lorraine Hansberry! The statue will be activated in the Pillsbury House + Theatre parking lot from August 16 - September 15 with numerous community events & artist contributions. Block Party festivities include free food, a bouncy house, face painting, live radio, roller-skating, and so much more!   • The Tiny Diner Farmers Market returns every Thursday, starting July 14 -Sept. 1, and they're starting the POP program. What's that? It's an educational program where kids receive $2 tokens so they can learn how to purchase fresh veggies, fruit, and more. They are working in partnership with the University of Minnesota Extension program.

  • After a break in 2020 and a limited run in 2021, Open Streets Minneapolis is back with a full season of events for 2022, including Open Streets East Lake on Saturday, Aug. 13.! Learn more and find all dates here.
