Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) announced that youth 18 years and under can receive nutritious meals and snacks free of charge at parks, libraries, other community spaces, as well as the MPS food truck and food bus. Join Pillsbury House + Theatre and KRSM Radio on August 20th for a community Block Party celebrating PH+T’s 30th Anniversary & KRSM’s 5th, plus the arrival of ‘To Sit Awhile’ a life-size installation by sculptor Alison Saar celebrating Lorraine Hansberry! The statue will be activated in the Pillsbury House + Theatre parking lot from August 16 - September 15 with numerous community events & artist contributions. Block Party festivities include free food, a bouncy house, face painting, live radio, roller-skating, and so much more! The Tiny Diner Farmers Market returns every Thursday, starting July 14 -Sept. 1, and they're starting the POP program. What's that? It's an educational program where kids receive $2 tokens so they can learn how to purchase fresh veggies, fruit, and more. They are working in partnership with the University of Minnesota Extension program.
