Every October, on a crisp and cozy autumn evening, PPNA’s Annual Gathering brings the people of Powderhorn together to share a light meal in community, learn about PPNA’s work in the previous year, and elect the approaching year’s Board of Directors. This year, we are thrilled to host our beloved Annual Gathering alongside our new, intelligent, and people-oriented Executive Director, Catharine. We hope you will join us in loving community on Thursday, October 9th, from 6 pm to 8 pm at our new office, 3451 Cedar Ave South, Minneapolis, MN 55407.

In this time of transition, the staff and board of PPNA have been immensely grateful to welcome our brilliant new Executive Director, Catharine Bushman, to the team. Catharine dived headfirst into our events season, bringing her passion and expertise for community events, art, education, and collaboration to the forefront of our work. Catharine is a leader in inclusive practices and an advocate for access to leadership opportunities for youth, women, and minorities. Her approach to leadership, founded in collaboration, has already demonstrated her rich ability to serve our vibrant Powderhorn community.

Free Dinner & Delightful Conversation
While we plan to provide a brief overview of our past year, the magic of our Annual Gathering is our community. Before the board election, a light, delicious meal and freshly brewed coffee will be served. We encourage you to use this time to meet your neighbors and explore ways to get more involved in your community. From community cooking classes to theatre shows in the park, there is always something fun to do in Powderhorn!
What Did PPNA Achieve This Year?
Every year, the Executive Director presents a brief annual report of our work and current financial standing. We invite anyone curious about PPNA to join us for this annual meeting to get a deeper understanding of the work that we prioritize in a given year. The board chair will then open the floor for public comments and questions. We warmly request that attendees practice kindness and brevity. Please keep your questions and comments to 2 minutes to ensure everyone who wishes to speak has the chance to do so.
Board of Directors Election
PPNA is led by a 12-person Board of Directors composed of passionate community leaders. Each board representative reflects the diverse and vibrant members of Powderhorn, representing visionary artists, driven activists, strategic business or tech entrepreneurs, loving parents, proud veterans, wise retirees, and kindhearted residents. If you are interested in becoming more involved in your community, want to sharpen your leadership skills, expand your network, and make an impact in Powderhorn, board service is a great opportunity to do so!
We are looking for energetic, strategically minded individuals who are eager to help the neighborhood and organization thrive. All interested folks over the age of 16 who live, work, or own property in Powderhorn can pursue a spot on the association’s board! Fill out the nomination form in advance online by October 3rd, 2025, or run from the floor at the Annual Gathering on Thursday, October 9th, 2025.
