Touchstone Mental Health plans to move their Intensive Residential Treatment Program from its current location in the Seward Neighborhood to the 32xx block of 14th Ave S.
Some things to know about the project:
1) This building would serve as temporary housing for adults with a mental illness and/or substance abuse disorder for up to 90 days
2) The facility will be staffed 24/7 with mental health professionals
3) Up to 16 people could be receiving services and staying in the facility at any given time
4) While they do serve people with substance abuse disorder, it is a dry campus
5) September 2021 is the anticipated opening date for this facility
Some things to know about Touchstone:
1) Touchstone has been providing Mental Health and residential services in Minneapolis for over 30 years
2) Touchstone helps find housing placements for people upon leaving the program
3) 80% of people served by Touchstone complete their program, and everyone who stays in their facility has to participate in mental health treatment
4) Most people come to the Intensive Residential Treatment Program from a hospital
5) Touchstone has expressed a desire to partner with the community in advocating for more deeply affordable housing resources
