Powderhorn Shark Tank: Where are they now? Curl Power Salon

Curl Power Salon, owned by Rosie Jablonsky (pictured above), won 1st Place in the Expanding Businesses category at the 2018 Powderhorn Shark Tank competition. Rosie's Salon had been up and running for a while, but they had an idea for a "Curl Camp" to help curly-haired kids learn how to take care of their hair.

This summer, Curl Power Salon hosted its first two Curl Camps with the help of prize money, connections, and skills they got from Powderhorn Shark Tank.

"The prize money was so important in turning Curl Camp into a reality. We used the money spread across various parts of our project. Designing and printing our super cute 'My Curl Power: how to care for your hair' booklet was one of them."

Not only did Rosie win some award money, but she found all kinds of other resources and connections at the competition as well. She was able to switch to a new payroll system using ADP and receive financing from WomenVenture, both of which are continued partners of Powderhorn Shark Tank. Now, Rosie is working on planning two more Curl Camp sessions, including the addition of a Teen Curl Camp to serve older children.

"It has been so fun to build this program and watch it's baby steps of growth, all supported by Powderhorn Shark Tank! Thanks so much for the opportunity to be a part of this amazing program."
