PPNA Public Testimony For Renter's Protections

On Wednesday August 28th the City of Minneapolis Housing Policy Committee held a public hearing on two renter protection hearings. PPNA staff members Cori and Tabitha shared testimony at the hearing. Two new ordinances were up for a vote by the Minneapolis City Council and PASSED at the committee level!

One ordinance would limit aggressive barriers in tenant screening practices like discriminating based on past eviction, criminal, and credit histories, and the other would put a limit on unreasonable security deposit charges that deny fair access to housing.
