The Garden Crusader Awards
The Garden Crusader Awards were created by Gardener's Supply in 2001 to honor individuals who are improving the world through gardening. These enthusiastic men and women are planting trees and flowers, growing food, creating new green spaces, and teaching their friends and neighbors about the rewards of gardening.
Midtown Market Season Begins on May 3rd!
The Midtown Farmers' Market is not unique in offering locally grown or produced foods, but we are uniquely devoted to a healthy, prosperous, sustainable future for our families, our land, our neighborhoods both urban and rural. That's why all of the fruits and vegetables you'll find at Midtown are grown in Minnesota and Wisconsin. The freshest seasonal produce graces the growers' tables at Midtown. The same goes for the naturally raised chickens, beef, lamb, pork and other meats you'll find at Midtown.
Dine Out for Life and fight AIDS
The Minneapolis City Council has proclaimed April 24, 2008 as Dining Out for Life Day. Participating restaurants will contribute a portion of meal expenses to the Aliveness Project’s work helping people living with HIV and AIDS in Minneapolis. Last year, more than 1,450 people with HIV benefited from the Aliveness Projects services, including meal programs, a food shelf and health care advocacy.

Kidz Cafe
Kidz Café began September 21st, 2007 and will run until June 6th at Powderhorn Park Community Center 3400 15th Avenue. The purpose of the program is to serve dinner to the youth every other Friday from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Many of our youth are homeless or rarely receive a nourishing meal, contact from a caring adult, and an opportunity to get the youth engaged in activities in the community. The Kids Café will and has offered both.
